Looking to see how aware students, parents, administrators, teachers and staff are of bullying on our campus and create a bullying prevention policy specifically for our campus.
My action research plan is similar to Karen's in that I too am implementing a bullying awareness and prevention program geared toward our fifth graders, parents and staff. This is an age old concern but has become even more serious with Internet abuse, child abuse, and youth suicides. Please include me, Karen, on your blog RSS. http://thewrightway1228.blogspot.com/
Our district is implementing a bully prevention program this year. It is a reaction to unfortunate events from the past school year. This week I participated in a discipline training in which the presenter connected the rise in bullying to the issues in the economy. I found this very interesting. She suggested that as parents are unemployed and experiencing financial struggles that frustration can transfer to students who then carry it to school in various ways. Perhaps this is something you would want to consider in your study. This is an important topic and I hope you experience much success.
Bev, Melissa and anyone interested, I have created a blog to post your blog address. This will be an easy way to stay connected and continue to follow our progress. Look forward to sharing ideas! http://actionresearchblogs.blogspot.com
Mine will be similar to Karen's, but I would like to narrow my focus to bullying/ harassment started online or texting and carried over to the campus level.

That is an important consideration, Melissa, and thanks for the info! I hope to learn much more in an upcoming training myself.
