Action Research_ Special Education Transition

1 comment:

  1. I am looking at the appropriate placement of special education students in the least restrictive environment (LRE). The goal of my action research would be to ensure that all students on my campus are in the classes that will challenge them the most giving them the opportunity to complete work on grade level and possibly ARD out of special education completely. It seems that many of the students are beginning to suffer from learned helplessness and rather than challenge students to become thinkers we are going the opposite direction. The fix seems to be placing ALL special education students, regardless of level or ability, into an inclusion/co-teach class, despite the fact that a large percentage of these students could work in a level or even pre-ap class with the appropriate guidance and accommodations.
