  1. I am truly lost this week on how to write the actual action research plan....The example in the rsources seems so complete already, and I just decided on a topic to research....Is there an example of an action reserach plan that is in the very beginning stages?

    1. It's now 2013 and I am stuck in my action research on RTI. I am overwhelmed but am wondering how you made out? I hope it was great. I hope you still get notices from your blog.

      Any insight would be great.

      Thanks,

  2. My action research will be focusing on the RtI process in our elementary building. In the next school year, we will be implementing the NWEA's MAP computerized testing program to help identify our students in grades K-5 who are struggling in the areas of Reading and/or Math. My study will follow a group of 12 students, a boy and girl from each grade level, through the initial identification process to the final testing administration in May 2011. I will be trying to determine the effectiveness of this expensive program to meet the RtI needs of my elementary campus and periodically meeting with our campus committee to share the data and discuss future recommendations to improve the way our campus addresses the needs of struggling students.

I would like to figure out the underlying causes of former at-risk students being re-instated into the at-risk program.

  5. My action research: tiffaneesresearch.blogspot.com
The purpose of this action research is to determine if student achievement in Reading and Mathematics improves with the use of the SuccessMaker program used at a middle school with 5th and 6th grade intervention students.

My research is focused on math improvement for low performing at risk elementary students. Each year, we seem to spend most of the time working with only 3 or 4 kids who are really struggling. Those kids end of scraping by on passing the TAKS test. At the same time, the rest of the class must work independently. I want to see how to identify these students early and make them more successful. Please check out the full plan and comment. Thanks!

  7. My research is regarding the best practice for early intervention and progress monitoring. I am looking for the best techniques for intervention for different ares for teachers to use in classrooms and then an effective way to track students short term long term.

  8. Here's the link to my action research plan: http://lutitiafeatherston.blogspot.com/2010/07/naaman-forest-high-school-at-riskrti.html

I am interested in seeing if connecting teachers and parents of "at-risk" students and offering them specific adjustments for their learning and behavior the same way we do with SPED will help them better to succeed.
