In light of the new state TEKS (which hasn't completely been settled yet, CTE educators are expected to implement) in what ways could the development of a career pathways curriculum simultaneously satisfy our state’s new technology standards for career and technology education, meet the developmental needs of our high school students and integrate seamlessly into our already established high school curriculum. In a perfect world, budgetary concerns, participation concerns (4X4 pressures on student schedules)as well as extra-curricular activities have no bearing on the immediate future of our students or educator futures however, in the real world, our business constituents want technological savvy employees and educators want the financial security to do a job well but the state says "FIGURE IT OUT"! Go Figure.
My principal and I identified as an area for action research the need of globalization of our curriculum by linking students with authentic audiences from around the world through the use of technology, specifically the internet, in order to improve the learning of 3rd through 5th grade students. I have chosen this topic because it is our district’s main focus for this upcoming school year. Good afternoon! I think my action research question goes in this section. My inquiry question is how might group collaboration, technology-based learning (with resources such as the use of the internet), and cross curricular integration help to ensure higher levels of thinking and meet curriculum standards in the school? My blog is http://sarah-e-arnold.blogspot.com
My research inquiry: Will increasing effective integration of technology in the 7th grade Math classroom improve academic performance? Teachers need to have more relevance in their teaching in order to engage our 21st century learners. Our students today use numerous types of technology tools outside the classroom and when they come inside our school buildings they have to “power down”. Using web 2.0 tools in classroom will capture and engage our students make learning relevant and meaningful which will increase overall academic performance.
My research inquiry: How can journaling incorporate differentiated instruction in order to develop higher level thinking skills? How can technology be used as a tool in this process? my blog address: http://ajbroussard5.blogspot.com/
My research is also about how technology affects student achievement. My action research will center around 7th grade students who are showing signs of apathy and little motivation to achieve more than the basic necessary skills. These students are the students who are very capable to read on or above grade level, but who just do not seem to excell in their English classses. My district and campus is piloting a program called Expert 21. It is using the most up to date 21st century technology to enhance students motivation to learning in hopes to raise standardized test scores.
I am an Instructional Technology Specialist at a high school and am wondering... What is the relationship between the use of technology in the Math classroom and improved Math district benchmark scores and state TAKS scores? I will be working with a few 9th and 10th grade Math teachers on my campus. I will help them use current technology and integrate a few new tools into their classroom as the year progresses.
My research project is to analyze the effectiveness of two web based programs in accelerating the language acquisition process of ESL newcomers and to decide on the best set up for our students as regards time spent on the programs and frequency of use.
My research question is: What benefits, if any, will benchmark testing of 8th grade students in technology have on student performance on the 8th grade technology assessment that students are required to take by the by the end of the 8th grade.
My action research project is to implement student blogging, chart and analyze student achievement within the blogs. Can I use it as a tool to improve writing skills and critical thinking? Will students at my school "buy in" and actually find a way to enjoy writing? As we all know, if we find ways that they are learning and it doesn't seem like the normal in-school assignments, the students' responses are often positive. It will be interesting to implement the use of blogging in my classrooms because there are no teachers at my campus doing it yet. The possibilities are endless.
My action research project is on classroom blogs. I want to research it relationship with improving parent/teacher/student communication and increased student achievement.
My action research project is over the use of technology in a reading classroom and the effect it has on the student population. My classroom is special education and I'm hoping that if I can show a positive impact for my students, it'll be easy for general education teachers to see the effect it could have for their students. My blog with the action plan is http://thespedlife.blogspot.com/
My action research project is meant to discover whether students learn measurably better when afforded a 1:1 classroom computer ratio as opposed to a 2:1 or worse.
My action research project is related to the 8th grade technology application assessment that is now required in texas. I see that Blanco posted something similar on Aug 4, 2010. Although similar, my project will focus on 2nd graders. My district will begin to benchmark 2nd and 5th graders in hope to prepare our students for the 8th grade tech apps assessment. I want to investigate the best practices in teaching the technology application tek to 2nd graders and how can I as a technology leader help to ensure success on the 2nd grade technology benchmark assessments?
My action research project is related to my school's decision to have a one to one laptop environment for our third and fourth graders. My question is: How can the utilization of a one to one laptop environment help improve Language Arts in third and fourth grade classrooms?

My action research project is to determine how the student achievement levels are affected in a 4th grade classroom that implements and encourages the use of technology devices (iPods, iPads, laptops) and resources (Web 2.0 tools) to help supplement the current curriculum. Does the implementation of these devices improve learning and understanding on a specific topic, such as Organisms and Environment, as compared to a classroom that does not. This small sampling will help built the framework for determining if these tools would benefit student achievement in other areas of curriculum.
