Matthew Kitchens said... Here is my action-research topic: "Are teachers more willing to integrate Web 2.0 technologies into curricula once they've seen how Web 2.0 technologies fulfill school and classroom management needs?"
Follow the details on my blog: http://matthewkitchens.blogspot.com
While there, check out the article Facebook's privacy breach and Google's attempt to rival Facebook. What are the tech ed consquences?
My research project is also using Web 2.0 tools. I want to see how blogging will help science scores and participation in class. I would be very interested to see what you learn with your project. It looks good and I wish you the best.
I will be researching the level of Web 2.0 tool usage in Cisco Networking Academy classrooms. I want to examine the impact on student engagement in an environment that is already heavily focused on technology when these tools are used. I believe that using tools like wikis and blogs will really accelerate the learning for the academy students as well as give them a voice in the classroom.
Action Research: How can El Campo High School extracurricular sponsors and members communicate effectively considering the unavailability of school time set aside for such meetings? I have already started working with students to create Web 2.0 solutions to this problem. And getting them comfortable with the technology for something they love may help them when faced with using it in a subject that is difficult.
My research is on web 2.0 tools with an emphasis on social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and cell phone use. My research will be in finding best practices and safety of interaction between teacher/student, student/student, and teacher/parent. Thanks for the article suggestion on Facebook. I will check that out.
Action Research: What type of assistance do teachers need in order to implement technology into their lessons? They are being provided with the resources and instruction; they are just not implementing it.
Action Research: Would the use of technologies, such as student response systems, Smartboard, document cameras, digital projectors, student computer work stations and Smart Airliners, help increase student performance?
Although my action research topic combines two projects, I believe it would work best to post it here:
What impact does service learning paired with technology, specifically Web 2.0 tools, have on our disenfranchised and disengaged middle school students?
I have four basic questions that I would like to answer with my project: Is teacher collaboration an important factor in student success? How much teacher collaboration is occurring at our school? What are the barriers that are preventing further teacher collaboration? How can web 2.0 tools be used to increase teacher collaboration?
My action research question: Does the integration of technology help differentiate the curriculum and increase student achievement among all student groups to meet 21st Century Learners?
